What is the sticky video unit?

Last updated on 16 Dec, 2024

Sulvo's sticky video unit allows publishers to easily provide rich content on their site and access high paying video demand. The unit is unique in that publishers do not need to provide a video or video content. Publishers simply place the unit in content like a normal display unit.

Sticky video is a format that is called from the content of your site (the sidebar not allowed) and should be placed as high in your site as possible. The ad starts loading once 50% of the unit is in view. Once the reader scrolls past the unit, on mobile it becomes sticky on the top, on desktop it becomes sticky on the right side of the page. This format may not have 100% fill but has very strong (video) CPMs.

Important Restrictions:

  • There is a limit of 1 sticky video unit per page

  • The unit should not be called from the sidebar on desktop (this will result in invalid activity)

  • If you have a Sulvo sticky mobile top display unit, we recommend replacing it as this new video unit or Sticky video earnings will be impacted (sticky mobile bottom units do not interfere with this unit).

  • The sticky video unit cannot alternate between a video and a display placement on the same geo/device combination, this is a policy violation that can lead to invalid traffic deductions.
